Passing, Downtown Johannesburg, 2012
Passing II
Posted for long periods of time at a busy street corner in downtown Johannesburg, I photographed the people passing by, negotiating this typical urban passage, making their way through the crowd. Revisiting the genre of street photography, somewhere between Philip Lorca diCorcia’s Heads and David Goldblatt’s Intersections, I captured moments, faces and gestures, in the random, fast-moving flow of bodies and trajectories, creating an ever-changing, spontaneous and somehow filmic choreography.
